Shali Castle, located in the heart of Siwa city, is one of the most important historical monuments in the city. It dates back to the thirteenth century. It is made up of a group of interconnected buildings built of bricks and mud. It consisted of 5 floors, and housed most of Siwa’s residents in its rooms, but in 1926 A storm descended on the city, causing severe damage, as a result of which the city's residents moved to modern buildings outside the castle walls. During their wanderings in the old town, visitors will find the remains of this castle and some of its rooms, which are now used for storage.
