The name Portugal dos Pecinetos can be translated as "Little Portugal". It is a miniature of Portugal, and especially attracts young visitors. It was founded by Professor Bisaya Barreto; A local doctor and medical school lecturer, his aim for the garden was to be "a vivid portrait of what the Portuguese presence means throughout the world", and the result is both entertaining and educational with a collection of miniature versions of Portugal's finest national buildings and traditional regional villages.
