Information about Peter And Paul Cathedral
The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul is the oldest church building in the Belarusian capital, Minsk. The church was built between 1612 and 1630 with donations from 52 members of the nobility and the bourgeoisie. In 1933, the Bolsheviks closed the church, arrested the clergy and executed many of the residents, and the church became a warehouse for storing food. The church was reopened and re-consecrated to the apostles Peter and Paul in 1991 AD, where the architectural changes that were made in the nineteenth century and the Soviet era were undone, and today the church is in the list of monuments of national and religious importance that are visited by tourists and pilgrims annually to perform special religious rites .
