Information about Pacha Mosque
The Pasha Mosque was built in 1796 during the reign of Mohamed Bey the Great and the order of Sidi Baba Hassan Pasha of Algiers. The mosque was occupied by a group of French forces, during the French invasion . As in 1833, by order of General Demichel, the mosque was returned to the Muslims. Later the mosque was restored by order of Napoleon III. The US government donated $100,000 and sent experts in restoration and seismology to renovate the mosque in 2007 . This mosque is a historical monument of the city of Oran, do not miss the opportunity to visit it.
