One of the oldest buildings in Dar es Salaam, Old Boma is located opposite the port and near the city council. It was built between 1866 and 1867 by Majid bin Said, Sultan of Zanzibar, near his palace. With beautiful hand-carved wooden doors, coral stone ceilings and walls, and a mixture of Arabic and Indian designs, Old Puma is the city's oldest stone building and a major attraction.
