The Northern Ireland War Memorial tells the story of Northern Ireland's contribution to the World War II effort from the Belfast Blitz in 1941 to the American forces stationed from 1942 to 1944, and of course the home front sacrifices that included the Ulster Home Guard, Civil Defense and the Northern Ireland Women's Volunteer Service .
