Namazgah Bastion is a military fortress built during the reign of Sultan Abdul Aziz (Abdulaziz) between 1861 and 1876. It was built next to the medieval fortress of Kelet Bahir, which is so close that it looks like a modern extension of it. The stronghold is distinguished by its majestic military design, where trenches, gates and tunnels have integrated to form a strong defensive system for the city.
