The Museum of Treasures of St. Peter's Basilica is of great historical and artistic importance, as it preserves the sacred and precious relics offered for the dedication of the Vatican Cathedral. Of particular interest are the monument to Sixtus IV, the silver cross, the menorah, the sarcophagus of Junius Bassus (4th century), the cross of Emperor Justin the 2nd century (4th century) and a gilded metal cock (9th century) adorning the bell tower of St. Peter's, as well as many other archaeological collections.
