The Museum of Preserved Artistic Values is a branch of the Brest Regional Museum of Local Heritage. It is the only museum in Belarus to display artworks and artifacts confiscated by Brest customs officers while trying to illegally export them abroad. The museum was opened in 1989 in a small palace, and it became an architectural monument from the early twentieth century. Today, the funds of the Regional Museum of Local Traditions are stored here, and it houses more than 10,000 pieces of art.
