The Museum of Byzantine Culture was opened in 1994 in Thessaloniki, and it is considered one of the most important cultural and educational centers in the city and in Greece in general, as it is concerned with preserving the Byzantine heritage and what is related to it through different historical periods. The museum specializes in collecting and preserving Byzantine religious pieces, icons, paintings, and murals that were present in churches and archaeological sites and presenting them to visitors and researchers interested in the Byzantine period and churches. And some finds from Thessaloniki and the wider Macedonia region.
