Built in 1903 as the residence of the artist and his wife, the stately building is located within the grounds that contains a library housing a collection of important manuscripts. It has its original interiors, featuring elaborate baroque ornate ceilings, and in addition to the artist's art collection, the museum contains important collections of valuable works from the prehistoric period to the nineteenth century, with an emphasis on Iberian work.
