The Muscat Gate Museum is located above the gate that separates ancient Muscat from modern Muscat. It has a wonderful view that you can see through the wide stairs leading to the museum gate. It tells the long history of Oman, and focuses in particular on the history of the capital, Muscat. It also provides an explanation of the famous falaj irrigation system. It has Oman, in addition to the distinctive Omani architecture, whether in building niches in mosques, halls, doors or wooden arches. This museum takes the visitor on a journey through the various stages of the development and growth of the city from a commercial port to a prosperous capital, and bears witness to the antiquities and history of Muscat.
