The only national cultural museum in the country, this wonderful museum houses specialized exhibitions on the mines of Ostrava and Karvina. The museum explains about the industrial heritage and coal mining that was taking place in the north of the city, and the exhibition organizes guided tours to explain the equipment used, and the actual mining methods. The tour also includes a visit to the changing rooms, engine rooms, and the ways the prospectors walked.
