In 1913, an initiative committee was set up to erect a sacred monument to Michael the Brave in Craiova, the sculptor Pavelescu-Dimo prepared a model for the creation of a very beautiful monument dedicated to this great military leader on horseback, and the statue was brought in To Craiova in 1974, but until 1990 it was erected behind the Art Museum, and in 1990 it was built in the city center on Union Square, and between 2004-2008, on the occasion of the redevelopment of the city center, it was moved to the large park between the State House and the Church of the Holy Trinity Historic, near a number of large artesian fountains.
