The archaeological site of Córdoba Cathedral in Córdoba epitomizes Andalusian identity like few other buildings. It is a living building that clearly integrates the historical layers of different cultures and civilizations, as the building was built in ancient Islamic times such as the Abd al-Rahman Mosque, which was converted over the stages of that period into schools and then restored as a mosque again, until the Islamic ages ended and the building was returned to the hands of the Catholics, who converted it into a cathedral, and today it retains this mixture of religions in its corners, designs and additions that were added through the backward ages.
