This magnificent building was formerly the center of the Mevlevi Sufi sect, a small sect that came to Bulgaria during the Ottoman period and remained alive and practicing its rituals until the end of the nineteenth century. In this building there are separate rooms in which the Sufis used to stay for prayer and worship, several meeting rooms, and a room with murals showing the Sufis performing one of their dances, which was loved by the local Bulgarian people.
