Cape Saint Vincent's Lighthouse is located within the space of a castle built in the 16th century to protect the coast from frequent attacks by Moorish pirates. It stands on the site of a former medieval monastery, which, according to legend, housed the remains of São Vicente (Saint Vincent). Military with a polygonal plan and a portal crowned with the royal shield, inside it can be seen the lighthouse, which was built in 1904 and is still in operation today.
