Home to the Vatican's richest collection of jewels, the Lapidari Gallery or Galleria Lapidaria is located in the southern part of the long corridor that was created to connect the Vatican Palace with the Belvedere Palace, formerly called "Ampolacrom Uliana" after Pope Julius II (1503-1523) or Bramante Passage" in reference to the name of the architect who designed it. The presentation here is divided into thematic sections corresponding to individual walls or groups of walls.
