A distinctive museum located in a restored 16th century building, the exhibition rooms are devoted to the ancient crafts of working in the fields, as well as to all the other handicraft activities practiced in the old quarters of Matera: sieve-makers, tanners, shepherds, shoemakers, barbers, blacksmiths , tailors, and peasants. The museum includes rooms displaying various tools such as agricultural tools, equipment for storing and processing wheat, and weaving equipment. This museum aims to form a dynamic structure and reference for the development of the culture of the past through exhibitions and educational activities that it organizes.
