The old Golstaff church from 1200 was replaced by a new church in 1880. The church was bought and presented to King Oscar II by the Norwegian Society for the Preservation of Antiquities. The sober church was restored to its original thirteenth-century form in 1884, and from It is worth noting that the lost medieval building parts were inspired by the Burgund Staff Church.
