Established in 1973 and included in the United Nations List of Nature Parks and Protected Areas, the Gallipoli Peninsula National Historical Park covers 33,000 hectares at the southern tip of the Gallipoli Peninsula on the European side of the Dardanelles. The main objective of the establishment of this park was to honor the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives defending the homeland. The park includes memorials, monuments and cemeteries, and the beauty of green hills, sandy beaches and blue waters provides a place of honor for soldiers who fought bravely.
