The Fountain of the Deity is a small sacred shrine dating back to the Roman era. Its construction began in the first century AD. It is associated with the water cult. It is dedicated to the Galician and Lusitan deities, Tungo Nabiagos and a prophet, first identified by George Brau on his map of Braga in 1594, this monument was first studied in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by the well-known Portuguese archaeologist José Leite Vasconcelos, which contributed to its classification as a national monument.
