The Fitzwilliam Museum is the University of Cambridge's museum of art and archeology. It is located on Trumpington Street off Fitzwilliam Street in the center of Cambridge. Founded in 1816, the Fitzwilliam Museum houses one of the best collections of antiques and modern art in Western Europe With over half a million pieces of artwork in its collections, displays at the museum reveal world history and art from antiquity to the present. Museum treasures include artworks by Monet, Picasso, Rubens, Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt, Cézanne, Van Dyck, and Canaletto, as well as winged reliefs of Nimrud. Public admission is always free.
