The court opened during the colonial era in 1808, the year the Portuguese royal family arrived in Rio de Janeiro. It was originally called the House of Appeal in Brazil. The President chose to nominate himself as the first members of the Federal Supreme Court who would then serve as members of the Court. All this history and many other things told by this special museum, it contains a lot of photos, antiques, furniture, paintings and a lot of things related to Brazilian history.
