One of the main attractions of the city is the Samovodska Church ethnographic complex in Veliko Tarnovo. It consists of historic Renaissance buildings, renovated or built with high stone walls, houses with balconies overlooking the street, and small workshops. The complex arose during the second half of The nineteenth century, when the city began to grow and develop, and the two narrow cobbled streets became the economic center of the city with many shops.
