Tarragona contains excellent monuments that give visitors an idea of how the Romans lived and their games in antiquity. One of these sites is the remains of a Roman circus. Keep in mind that the term does not mean what it is associated with today, it used to host chariot races periodically for throngs of fans, attended by both the general public and VIPs who were placing bets on their favorite teams. Along with the Roman walls and the adjacent amphitheater, this monument is an important site to visit if you want to understand the history of Tarraco, or as we call it today, Tarragona.
