Saint Demetrius Church is a medieval Bulgarian Orthodox church in Veliko Tarnovo, located at the foot of the eastern Trebetsa hill on the right bank of the Yantra River. Historical research links it to the declaration of the rebellion of the brothers Asen and Peter that led to the restoration of the Bulgarian state in In 1186, the family palaces of the Asin dynasty were also located on this hill. As for the architecture, this church has a unique architectural structure, consisting of a semi-cylindrical dome, an entrance, a central hall, and galleries connected to the south and north sides, and its outer walls are decorated with arched niches typical of the late Middle Ages.
