The unique Churbakir memorial complex is located five kilometers southwest of Bukhara in a village called Sumitan, or the town of the dead. The construction of this wonderful landmark appeared during the rule of the Samanids in the sixteenth century, and at first it was a family cemetery for the Guberi dynasty only. . The complex also includes a beautiful orchard and majestic buildings covered in Islamic motifs and Qur'anic inscriptions.
