The historic Samanid Mausoleum, built in the 10th century AD, is located in the northwestern part of Bukhara, and was built as the resting place of the powerful and influential Samanid Islamic dynasty that ruled Uzbekistan for a long time. The mausoleum is one of the outstanding examples of early Islamic architecture, and is also known as the oldest mortuary building in Central Asia, and the only surviving structure from the Samanid period. Visitors will be dazzled when seeing it with the beauty of the inscriptions on its walls, gate and dome, and they will be impressed by its immensity and stability despite the centuries since its construction.
