The Cathedral of San Ciriaco, or as it is called "Ancona Cathedral", is the Roman Catholic cathedral of Ancona, a church dedicated to Saint Cyriacus, Archbishop of Ancona, and occupies primarily the site of the Roman Temple of Venus, and includes the remains of a church from the fifth to sixth centuries AD. The building is an example of the merging of Roman, Byzantine and Gothic architectural elements together, as this combination resulted in an integrated architectural masterpiece. The building is characterized by the decorations and inscriptions that fill the bright white walls, in addition to the statues and carvings that adorn the cathedral inside and out.
