Information about Palazzo degli Anziani
It is a central square in the city of Ancona that dates back to 425 AD, and was built by order of the Roman Empress Galla Placidia, the daughter of the Roman Emperor Theodosius I. The square was built in the Roman Gothic style at the beginning, but it underwent some modifications and differences, and other architectural elements were added to it later. The clock is surrounded by a group of monumental buildings such as palaces and churches, most of which date back to the medieval period, including the Government Palace, as well as the remains of an old tower designed in the style of Byzantine architecture.
