Established in 1922, the Bukhara State Museum of Architectural Arts is located inside the Bukhara Fort, a huge defensive complex built in the 5th century AD. The museum contains more than 100,000 pieces of cultural, material and intellectual heritage of the Uzbek people. Visitors will find among the exhibits coins, household tools, pottery, furniture, books, ancient maps, manuscripts in Arabic and much more. The museum includes a section dedicated to Islamic architecture in Uzbekistan, and this section contains miniature statues of the most famous architectural buildings in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
