Bukhara Fort is a huge defensive complex built in the fifth century AD, and this fort used to include the city of Bukhara within its walls, and then the city expanded to come out of the fort's courtyards. UNESCO has placed this fort on the World Heritage List, because it is still in excellent condition, its walls are still standing and its towers are still majestic, despite the passage of more than 15 centuries since its establishment.
