The Zagreb Botanical Garden is located in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Zagreb and was founded in 1889 by Professor Antun Heinz at the same university. It covers an area of five hectares and is home to more than 10,000 species of plants from around the world, including 1800 exotic or rare species, and it is also worth noting that the works of the artist Slava Raškaj were painted by the ponds scattered throughout.
