Khan Bayaz, which was built in 1909 by the tobacco merchant Bayaz Ahmet Efendi, was converted into a museum by the Gaziantep municipality in order to promote the culture and history of the city, and was opened in 2009 under the name of Gaziantep Khan Bayaz City Museum. Visitors learn about the history, attractions, natural beauty, economy, handicrafts and culinary culture of Gaziantep. The city's local arts such as Kutno and copper embroidery are displayed by models in thematic sections. There are also sister cities exhibition halls, exhibition spaces and models of important architectural structures of the city.
