One of Palermo's oldest historical marketplace, it is an open-air market that displays merchandise in distinctive ways to attract the attention of passersby. It consists of stands filled with various types of food products, including fresh fish, meat, vegetables, spices and sweets, as well as food stalls distributed throughout the market selling traditional foods such as pies and baked goods of various kinds. The smells of delicacies and the colors of fresh vegetables and fruits attract tourists from afar to buy these products.
