The Basilica is one of the most important Baroque churches in the Italian city of Palermo and in the whole of Sicily. The construction of the church dates back to the early seventeenth century. The church is characterized by a unique architectural style, where the main facade is divided into two parts separated by a square frame, and in the lower part of the facade there are three gates, topped by a group of statues of St. Ignatius of Loyola (St Ignatius of Loyola) surrounded by the emblem of the Jesuit Order. The church has a wonderful interior design in terms of its colorful marble walls, frescoes, and marble ornaments and decorations.
