Information about Aslanhane Mosque
Aslan Khane Mosque is also known as Aslanhan Mosque, due to the ancient lion statue embedded in the wall of the cemetery complex to the east of the mosque. It is a historical mosque that was built by the two brothers Ahi at the beginning of the thirteenth century and was restored between the years (1289-1290) AD. The mosque is characterized by an architectural design that includes basalt columns and an ornate longitudinal minaret. The mosque has three entrances, one in the east, one in the west and the other in the north. The interior of the mosque is a good example of wooden Seljuk mosques from the thirteenth century.
