On top of the hill is the Aladdin Mosque, which was built in the 13th century. It was built as a colonnaded mosque according to an Arabic design, with a wooden roof supported by 42 antique columns. Next to it is a park built on the site of the former Konya Castle, right in the city center and is where Konya residents come for evening strolls and tea in the gardens. At the foot of the slope up the hill are the excavation site of Alaeddin Kaykubad's palace and the remains of the ancient city wall.
