The Northern Border Region is located in the far north of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the northern border with Jordan and Iraq. About 50% of the region is sandy and gravel deserts, but it is also characterized by a group of picturesque landscapes and fertile valleys covered with plants and flowers, although it is not a tourist destination. It is major, but it includes a large number of archaeological and historical monuments, as it constitutes the northern gateway to the Arabian Peninsula.
