Safari Zoo is an animal attraction and park located in the town of Fasano in the province of Brindisi, Apulia , on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, about an hour from Bari. The park offers a car safari tour in the visitor's private vehicle as well as walking around the animal areas, animal shows and many activities such as horse riding. The park opened in 1973 and includes the only male African elephant in Italy . It includes many animals and birds such as deer, sheep, buffalo, bears, lions, monkeys, zebra, horses, peacocks, ostriches, hippopotamuses, snakes, turtles, birds of prey, penguins and others.
