Yoros Castle is located at the top of the village of Anadolu Kavagi, and is the green face of Istanbul and the point of opening to the Black Sea, and it is the only Byzantine castle in Istanbul. Yoros Castle, known as the Genoese fortress, was built in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, which is certainly a Byzantine fortress according to the sources, with a unique and distinctive design, comprising huge fortified walls and bastions as well as two watchtowers, defensive forts and defensive bastions specially designed to withstand various invasions.
