The Winknollen Plateau is located near the city of Jena, and its height is about 363 meters above sea level. The region extends in green meadows similar in nature to the meadows of North America, and it is semi-arid and not used agriculturally. It has been classified as a nature reserve, but from a geological point of view, the soil of the region consists of stone lime, and the reserve includes orchards of fruits and thyme, and frogs, grass snakes and a group of insects live in the wet areas.
