The western archaeological area is part of the ancient city of Kos which was completely abandoned by the islanders during the Middle Ages and the period of the Knights. However, the excavations in it have brought a number of important structures and monuments of great importance to light. Among those found there are Thermes Port, the North and West Baths, the Cardo, the Limestone Gallery, and much more.
