Information about Roman Odeon of Kos
Built by the Romans around the 2nd and 3rd centuries, this ancient hall was found in the early 20th century along with the Roman gymnasium and baths, all in generally good condition. Although it has been restored, the first of its nine rows of benches is still of the original marble that was occupied by important citizens at the time, and there are also five other rows of granite benches, reserved for common people. It currently has a total of 18 rows of seats. Some of the other parts found are also in good condition such as the floor, wings and orchestra pit. Additionally, many statues were also discovered.
