One of the most famous temples in Ayutthaya, Wat Yai Chai Mongkun is one of the few ancient temples still housed by monks. It is a huge restored Buddhist temple of great historical importance. This temple has a stunning design with many towers, and is distinguished by the presence of a huge statue of Buddha reclining and a seated one, and its site is believed to have housed a complex of Khmer temples in the past.
