Wagrain Castle is the ruins of a famous stone castle dating back to about 1200 AD, and it was built by the lords of Goldegg in a suitable place as a fortress, surrounded by cliffs on all sides as a natural protection for it. The castle was distinguished by its contemporary building, where watchtowers, fortified walls and rooms for dressing the wounded were distributed. Today, as a result of natural factors and wars, only traces of the castle remain.
