The Venetian Walls of Nicosia are a series of defensive walls that surround Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The first city walls were built in the Middle Ages, but were completely rebuilt in the mid-16th century by the Republic of Venice, hence the name. The walls were characterized by a huge architectural design, with broad facades fortified and fully prepared to repel enemy attacks on the country.
