Information about Urn Tomb
The tomb of the jar is an archaeological building dating back to the Nabataean civilization in Jordan, specifically the first half of the first century AD. This majestic landmark is located in the ancient city of Petra, opposite the Nabataean Amphitheater. This building in the Nabataean period was a royal cemetery dug in the heart of the mountain, but it was turned into a church in the Byzantine period. Jordan has built a set of vaults and arches to facilitate access to this shrine. The road leading to it was also diverted to be from the bottom of the adjacent mountain, after it was accessed from the top.
