In the center of the historic village center of Merano, near the parish church, is the Typewriter Museum, which was built by the parish of Parchins to commemorate its greatest son, the inventor of the typewriter Peter Mitterhofer in the center of the old town of Parchin. The museum houses more than 2,000 pieces of art and manuscript, and also houses one of the largest historical collections of typewriters that provide a simple glimpse into the evolution of writing and the paper printing system.
